What a treat I had at the weekend! A REAL, PROPER grown-up adventure indeed!!!
Hum (Human Mum) told me we were going to the big city of London for the weekend! And having new experiences – the first being Train Travel on Virgin Trains East Coast! She said it would be good for me to try this out and then let you all know what it is like.
So on Friday afternoon, Hum and I set off to Grantham Station where first off the Customer Service lady was SO friendly and gave me cuddles 🙂
I checked to see if our train was on time on the BIG screen things on the station platform and then we got onto the Virgin Trains East Coast train! And of course Hum had booked me 1st class – well I deserve it!
Actually, Hum says to tell you to let your Humans know that if you book on-line on the computer thingy in good time it is REALLY good value. Our ticket was £25 from Grantham to London; food and drink provided and us small dogs travel free! How good is that!
I wasn’t sure about the movement of the train at first but soon managed to settle – best to lie down although I did sit up to share Hum’s food and for my 1st Class travel, photo opportunity 😉
There were lovely ladies who came and gave Hum cups of tea and then food!! We had a fish cake and boy was it good!! LOVED it!!
Oh and then another lady came with drinks! Check me out being offered a beer 😉 Apparently Hum says I’m not old enough for that stuff so I got a bottle of water instead. They really did look after me ever so well.
We arrived on time at a station in London called King’s Cross and I can honestly recommend this sort of travel to all my four-legged friends. Tell your Humans and spread the word – this was indeed a (1st) class journey and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Rail travel is definitely a good way to get around (be sure to book in advance and get that 1st class ticket) 🙂
