Yesterday we went to Ye Olde Bridge Inn, Oxton for a bite to eat.
It has recently been refurbished and looks very classy and I noticed several dog ornaments on shelves and the fireplace which was a good sign to start off with!
Dogs are made welcome in the bar area where there is a real fire for cold days and lots of comfy looking chairs.
Hum ordered the food and I was brought a bowl of water. I found a straw on the ground and tried to use it in the water bowl but maybe I shouldn’t have chewed it first. Anyway I have learnt it is not easy for dogs to drink with straws – just letting my other doggy pals know this in case they think it worth a try. Oh and I wouldn’t try eating coal either; just makes your fur all black and dusty.
I did have to find something to do as the only downside of Ye Olde Bridge Inn was the amount of time it took for the food to arrive. Hum kept saying ‘don’t know how it can take so long after all it is only a sandwich’ but when it arrived we could see it was not ONLY a sandwich; it was a sandwich worth waiting for!
The ‘sandwich’ was filled with succulent rotisserie chicken really moist and tasty! They have a rotisserie here as well as a proper imported pizza oven – how cool is that! Hum ate the crunchy stuff – coleslaw I think it was called. There was also a cute little basket of home-made chunky chips and salad. Becoming good at food reviews now I think.
Can’t give it full 5 paw prints because of the wait but would come back again for sure and can definitely recommend the chicken!
